Undervolt CPU: You can tell your CPU to use less power (therefore less heat) while maintaining the same performance. You can use a program called Intel XTU (xtreme tuning utility) and undervolt the processor. Going too low may cause crashes but its safe since if you do crash, Intel XTU will go to default values. Same idea as undervolting CPU; you tell it to use less power (same performance though). Lenovo Y510P Bios Install A ModdedI use a program called nvidia inspector, and in its Overclocking tab, theres a slider where you can adjust voltages, but Im not sure how well it works UNLESS you install a modded bios. I can run at -125mV without any problems and my GPU temps have dropped by 10C. You need to be a member on the forums with at least 5 posts to download the bios files). There is also repasting the GPUCPU but I dont think theres really a need for that. Its a powerful laptop (i7 decent graphics card) put into a small space. I would only be concerned when temperatures start hitting high 80s low 90s 1 Share Report Save level 2 Original Poster 6 years ago Yeah I have read about doing that but I didnt want to damage anything. I also read about getting a can of compressed air to clean out the air vents and fans. They are pretty dirty but I dont know how much of a difference it will make.
